Jonathon Pryce as the Marshall was just superb! What a piffling little pen pusher!

Even in this (very good) reduced version, i couldn't help getting goosebumps. One of my favourite movies, always makes me think about the power of imagination and the nonexistence of war. Both such dangerous ideas.

This film was refreshingly imaginative, making full use of the scripwriter's license to present us a fantastic make believe world. I have no words to describe the beauty of the Venus scene, complete with putti, and I remember being awestruck by it when I first saw it as a Teenager - I admit having a soft spot for Uma ever since.... Thanks for the great tribute, Screensiren!!

THis is one of my favorite movies. I have forgot it, Im glad that you brought back my childhood. I remenber that there were many scenes which made me laugh to hell, like the baron pull himself up by dragging his hair tail, hahaha, a classic.

97 Snazzes on the 100 point Snazz-o-scale! -Near perfection! The movie itself IS perfection. Great story, wonderful characters, astonishing FX. I believe Uma debuted in this movie, and Robin Williams was uncredited. -That waterery ballroom set must have cost a fortune! -I love the "Right Ordinary" city leader. :) -Why not a perfect 100? I missed my favorite scene. Climbing down to earth from the tip of the moon on that hair-rope. "This is exactly the sort of thing no one ever believes!"
