This is Information Retrieval not Information Dispersal.

British humor seems to delight in bleak satire, and more power to them. John Cleese once said he couldn't understand why Americans largely prefer Holy Grail to the Life of Brian, when he and his fellow Brits prefer the latter. Honestly, I think it might be that many Americans are just uncomfortable with cynical, biting social commentary.

In my sociology class the teacher makes growing up sounds rather pointless and meaningless because all of us go through the same stages of life from birth to death its all the same!

Its a possibility, but that means you have connections. For Sam it is a premotion that his mother gets him. He wants to remain in a lovely dead end job where no one can take note of him. As the movie progresses he is called before the boss on more than one occassion, and everything and Information Retrival is more sereptitiously bound into the idea of power. The higher up you get the more mysterious it becomes. There are more secrets and efforts to control human imagination and even the body.

Bloody wonderful. Just seen the Love Conquers All ending version. I've got to say it's terrible. I absolutely love this film though. My fave.
