Battle-Ready Episode 3: Tricks and Glitches

Back

This is a video series intended to help introduce competitive Smash Bros players to Brawl character movesets, strategies, and combos. I'll be making a new video every week, each time with a new character. Enjoy! Tricks and Glitches: Steps to Perform 1. Zap Jump -Immediately after using the second jump, press forward B. The timing is very tight. It's almost as if you're pressing it at the same time. 2. Ledge Warp -Simply position Wolf near the ledge of a stage and forward B. There can be different effects depending on exact location. 3. Homing Stall -It's as simple as using the homing attack under the stage. 4. Giga Puff -Time Jigglypuff's FS so that you're enlarged as an element of the stage "forces" her to move. Has also been done on Great Sea, and can probably work elsewhere too. 5. Air Stall -After being hit by an attack that has upward momentum, jump while you're still under the influence of the momentum and do a down air. It can be iffy at times. 6. Super Down Smash -It all depends on an opponent's position. They have to be right next to Toon Link, and crouch cancelling. Those are the only conditions necessary. It may not work on some larger characters, however. 7. Pivot Break -While doing a dash, start to turn around, and then immediately jump, and flick the control stick back in your original direction. You'll be turned around, and can do a back air or whatever while still maintaining your initial direction and speed. 8. Explosion Field -Still not exactly sure on how to activate this, but it involves Ganondorf's up tilt and correct positioning of the bomb blocks. Maintain proper distance so that he isn't hit by the initial explosion, and it may activate. Refer to the seperate video ([Brawl] Exploding Field Glitch) on it for more details. 9. Reflector Break -Requires proper positioning and an Olimar and Fox on the same team. Set it up as seen, and you'll eventually pull it off. 10. Super Float -Simply use the forward B (down B for Luigi) with the proper timing while falling to the ground. You'll know you did it right if you can jump again right before hitting the ground. 11. Turnip Dash -Throw a turnip while rolling. Proper timing is required. A further version can be used by doing an air dodge into the ground before performing. 12. Laser Lock -Simply keep lasering a character that has "fallen" on the ground. They will be unable to get out of it by themselves. 13. Infinite Grab -While a character has been grabbed, hold slightly forward on the control stick to make the non-grabbing climber walk forward, then all the way to cause the first climber to throw. Then grab with the other climber with the proper timing. Rinse and repeat. 14. Bomb Recovery -Should be obvious. 15. Shine Trap -Obvious. 16. Cypher Steal -Just grab the Cypher (not Snake) as it passes you. 17. Stuck Groudons -Get a Groudon to spawn in a confined area (as seen in the video) and it will be frozen there, unable to do anything or hurt anyone. Does not disappear. 18. Smash-cancelled dashes -While doing a dash attack (in some cases just dashing), quickly input an up smash just as the attack connects. Hitting with the latter part of the attack will not allow this. It's quite simple with some practice on the timing. 19. Spin Jump -Just use the second jump with the proper timing after charging the forward B spin dash. Similar timing to Lucas's Zap Jump.
